Notes from the field

I've always wanted to write that. Last weekend (the 14th/15th) I had the pleasure of spending time with a group of Canadian and American MEDA members who were in Egypt (I hope you had a safe and enjoyable trip!) on a MEDA tour. One of Saturday’s highlights included a visit to the Kima field office where children in the PPIC-Work program shared some of their thoughts and experiences related to PPIC-Work. I believe we were all impressed by the poise and confidence of these children, especially those who have been with the program since the beginning and are able to appreciate the degree to which the PPIC-Work interventions have changed these children’s lives. Following this, we split into smaller groups to visit micro and small businesses receiving PPIC-Work loans, and to “get behind the veil” of the local community.
